Janice Unrau
General Manager /Owner

Janice joined CANSAFE in 1996 and with no small amount of determination and persistence has worked her way from the front desk to the General Manager’s desk.

Getting her start in safety, Janice learned most of the stuff the “hard” way.  This was done by volunteering her time as the recording secretary for the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) Lloydminster Chapter as well as serving as a primary coordinator for North America Occupational Health and Safety Week (NAOSH) several years running – and let’s not forget the School Of Hard Knocks and Making Mistakes.

Because Janice started at the beginning, anyone who has dealt with CANSAFE has most likely spoken to her at one point in time or another.

Most recently, and with great excitement Janice (along with 2 partners) purchased CANSAFE Inc. from Brian Norwood.  Currently most of her responsibilities lie in anything to do with the clients.  This means whether it is regarding to booking a class or issues with a class booked – Janice is the one to call.

 

 

 

 

Valerie Ranger

IT & Accounting/Owner

Valerie started with CANSAFE Inc. as a consultant in the summer of 1999 when everyone had the Millennium rollover concerns. Clearly, she did an amazing job as we are still here!

Over the years Valerie has expanded her duties as the company has grown.  She has gone from looking after half a dozen stand-alone desk top computers to having a complete network system and 2 servers.  This is no small feat as in the meantime her and her husband, a computer programmer, have developed a purpose-built computer-based tacking system to cover all the steps in the safety training process from the booking of the class to the re-ordering of lost tickets.  Valerie also looks after all the accounting directly – whether doing it herself or supervision those that do.

In her spare time, because she had so much of it, Valerie (along with 2 partners) purchased CANSAFE Inc.
