Babysitting Course

St. John Ambulance describes the Babysitter Course as a course created for the 11-14 year old age group designed to teach babysitting, leadership and first aid skills in a fun and informative way.

Students learn:

• How to care for infants, toddlers and older children
• What questions to ask parents
• How to give first aid
• What to do in emergencies
• Activity book activities
• Role-playing
• Hands-on practice teaches skills
• Build confidence

Discussion Topics Include:

• Becoming a babysitter
• Caring for kids
• Kids & food
• Getting along with kids
• Kids & play
• Keeping kids safe
• Handling emergencies
• First aid

Each student will receive a cope of “What Every Babysitter Should Know” handbook, and upon successful completion, a St John Ambulance Babysitter Certificate.
