GROUND DISTURBANCE LEVEL I® ENDORSEMENT

Ground Disturbance Level I®
We are excited to announce that Global’s Ground Disturbance Level I® course has received endorsement by the Utility Safety Partners (USP) to their Ground Disturbance 101 Standard for both Instructor Led Training (ILT) and Online Training formats.
Level I® is a half-day program designed to ensure personnel are aware of the hazards and necessary items required to ensure safety. Participants are always under the direct guidance of a Ground Disturbance Supervisor with Level II® certification. The Level I® program was designed to meet the regulatory requirements for companies with a massive, fully supervised labour base. Emphasis is placed on recognizing hazards, and knowing when to stop work and inform the supervisor for further assessment. Even though the USP endorsement is based in Alberta, the Level I® course remains valid nationally as it still contains the best practice and is not jurisdictionally biased in content.
Ground Disturbance Level I® is now available for Licensee offering .

Here are some important notes regarding the Level I® delivery:

• Minimum 4 hour class time requirement, exclusive of breaks, lunch and exam, to complete the program.
• There is no addendum or group exercise.
• Maximum number of students is 20 per course.
• Students now have to successfully pass an exam to obtain Level I® certification.
• The exam is open book and has an 80% passing mark. Even though the exam is open book, that does not mean it is open group, students are still expected to complete the exam on their own.
• Students can ask clarifying questions to the instructor and verbal examinations are permitted for the Level I® course. Please refer to your Program Standard for conducting verbal examinations.
• Upon successful completion of course requirements, a wallet card will be issued and valid for 3 years
