ASBESTOS CERTIFICATION COURSE   

The asbestos certification course will be up to 16 hours and will include an overview of the following topics:

• Introduction to asbestos, its history, use and common locations of asbestos-containing materials
• Exposure assessment and health effects asbestos
• Legislation requirements relating to asbestos
• Introduction to asbestos abatement methods and control measures
• Air Monitoring during asbestos abatement
• Introduction to respiratory protection, fit testing and other personal protective equipment (PPE);
• Other health and safety considerations at the work site; and

Practical hands-on training for constructing decontamination facility, containment enclosure and glove-bag procedures.

Please note a final examination will taken at the end of the two (2) day course and students must achieve a minimum of 80% to become certified.

Successful candidates will be issued a Government of Alberta certification card
